"There's a singer, who we say in the trade has paid her dues. Born in England, she's done the studying and the working in New York, in London, in Canada and places as far flung as Thailand and Singapore. She's now back in London gigging and teaching. Still awaiting the wide recognition that her talents undoubtedly deserve and I hope will receive very soon. There must be some justice in the musical world." Humphrey Lyttelton on BBC Radio 2's Best of Jazz

‘She has an imaginative way with both improvisation and arranging.’ Jazz Review
‘There’s no doubt a considerable talent is at work here!’ Geoff Chapman, Jazz Critic, Toronto Star
‘Superbly delivered.’ Chris Borg, The Stage
‘Foster’s wonderful singing makes everything she touches sound special.’ Jerome Wilson, Cadence Magazine
‘She has an amazing ability that can turn a familiar tune into something new and exciting.’ Metro Magazine

Clare Foster has her roots firmly in Jazz and Brazilian music with a big love of beautiful songs. This new project stems from an adoration of the melody and harmony of English song from writers such as John Ireland, Vaughan Williams, Roger Quilter and Gustav Holst.

Subtle and tenderly woven arrangements with elements of folk, jazz, latin and classical music breathe new life into this wonderful old repertoire. This is a unique trio that captures the brilliance and sincerity of the music in its pure form, extracting the essence of each tune and clothing it in new, colourful raiments.

Clare Foster began her music studies in New York and then attended the Guildhall School of Music. Her work has taken her all around the world including, Europe, South East Asia and Canada, with TV and radio appearances in all these countries. With an eclectic selection of recorded CDs to her name as bandleader and side-lady, her first album ‘Clare Foster Sings Wayne Shorter’ on Groove Records, Holland, was voted ‘CD of the month’ on Euro jazz.
